A couple that won £5,000 sponsorship for their wedding were told “I don’t think so” by the vicar that was booked for the wedding. Suzanne Latta, 28, and her husband to be Matt Brown, 37, had won the money in an online bingo competition. The only clause was that they had display the bingo logo in a variety of places including in the church. The couple from Newcastleunder-Lyme, Staffs planned to marry next month, but Rev Tony Watts banned them from displaying the logo in the church in Ballater, Scotland. Suzanne commented: "He didn't approve of gambling being advertised in church." Hopefully given the amount of publicity that has been gained from the promotion the onlinebingoclub portal will still waiver some of the requirements for the sponsorship.
