Unit 4 Business Software Ltd has announced this week Rank Group Plc has purchased its CODA financial management software to manage the finances of their gaming and betting businesses. The new software will be implemented by Unit4 consultants to support the financial operations at more than 135 sites including the Mecca Bingo clubs, and Grosvenor and G Casino sites.

According to Group Financial Controller at the gaming giant, Clive Jennings "Selecting a new system that would support our future growth was critical,”

He added: “We asked a number of the major accounting firms which system they would recommend, carried out a detailed market evaluation of those systems and then sought out client references for a solid accounting platform. The responses all pointed toward CODA. An important factor was the capability to easily adapt the system to the business. Its flexible chart of accounts structure maps to our business, allowing us to add new businesses and gaming outlets around the world as required. The CODA software is truly international and will help us develop a single view of our financial performance around the globe.”

The CODA Financials software will interface with each gaming outlet’s management system to capture performance and accounting data. For Rank the ability to manage and reconcile the large volumes of cash it receives was of particular importance. Each day the system will automatically manage this process, reconciling cash with bank statements, calculating revenue and VAT liabilities, and quickly identifying any anomalies. The new system will remove the need of 35 of the companies finance professionals to concentrate on some of the administrative tasks and focus the resources on analysis of the business and individual site performance.
