| 82 Year Old Bingo Player Fights off Robbers |

An 82 year old bingo player fought of two men that tried to rob on her way to her local bingo club in Dumfries. The cowardly incident happened at 6:30pm on Sunday evening. The would-be robbers approached the old lady while she was walking alone, grabbing her and then they tried to make off with her handbag. The pensioner hit back at the men and managed to fight off both of the men who decided to flee the scene. The victim while not hurt was "obviously shaken" by the incident. The Police have issued a description of both of the men who attacked the lady. Both were in their late teens or early 20s. One of the offenders is described as 5ft 5in tall, wearing a cream-coloured, beanie hat. The man had a blonde fringe showing at the front, cleanly shaven and dressed in dark clothes. The other man was wearing a black balaclava and dark clothing and spoke with a slight English accent. Anyone with in any information about the attack are urged to contact the Dumfries Police as soon as possible.
