On Tuesday 14th December at around 8:30pm two Eastern Europeans stormed into the Regent Bingo Club on Westlode Street, Spalding and ran up to the offices. They then broke into one of the offices clearly looking for the cash office. Assistant Manager, followed them up the front stairs where the offices are located above the main public area. He found that they had broken into the locked office and were ransacking the room clearly looking for valuables. As he confronted them one was shouting threats at him while the other proceeded to attack him. The Police were quickly directed up the stairs hearing the shouts and arrested the two would be robbers before they could escape. The Assistant Manager sustained injuries to his arm in the attack. Operations Manager, Dave Holt, commented: “this was clearly two criminals seeking an opportunity and thanks to the quick actions of the Assistant Manager they have been apprehended by the Police. Thankfully, the Assistant manager has sustained only minor injuries and the customers were busy playing bingo at the time”
