The online bingo brand, Gala Bingo is set to celebrate its 5th this month and with plenty of rewards and promotions online bingo players are sure to want to cash in on the celebrations, but with reports suggesting the parent company could be broke up shortly will this be the last birthday the online bingo brand celebrates?

With the online brand being 5 years old, Gala Bingo is planning promotions to tie in with this number, starting with a round of special bingo games at 5.55 pm every week. The games played on Saturday offer prizes of £555.55 to the winning player and cost just 5p per ticket to take part. The special games which started on the 5th February are running until the 26th February.

The big question this week though will be whether the site will be around to take part in its 6th birthday celebrations. It is no surprise that the brand trades off the back of its land based bingo clubs and without these there would be no online Gala Bingo brand. Yes the online site could be sold but without the land based clubs the name would surely have to be rebranded and how many players would it then attract. It clearly will have lost its competitive advantage and the ability to retain players.

There is the possibility that if the break-up of Gala Coral does happen then the land based bingo clubs and online site could be sold together but more likely we will see a similar move to Buckingham Bingo where the clubs are sold off in chunks in order to maximise potential. Without its leading position in the land based bingo market the Gala bingo site is surely doomed.
