A highly respected credit agency, Fitch Ratings, has released a report suggesting that it is “increasingly likely” that the United States will introduce legislation on online gambling. It was noted that multiple states are looking at intrastate online gaming proposals. The US is under pressure to reduce its deficit with the IMF stressing the urgency even today. The Fitch report claims online gaming revenues from illegal offshore companies is estimated to be worth between $5 billion to $6 billion a year and these amounts would increase significantly if the new legislation was introduced to legalise online gaming.
