Local media reports in Korea have reported that the Police have uncovered 8 billion South-Korean Won or $7.4 million in cash that had been buried under soil in a garlic farm in Gimje, the North Jeolla Province in Korea. The land belonged to the brother-in-law of man that has been jailed for running illegal online gambling operations. The website was hosted on a server located in Hong Kong from 2008 and 2009.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the brother-in-law who has simply been identified as Lee being 53 years old. Police have stated that the latest find brings the total of the illegal fund to 11 Billion South-Korean Won, but believe there is the possibility that Lee could help them to uncover any other money that may have been stashed away. The illegal gaming operator has served 17 out of his 18 month sentence and Police will be keen to identify any further funds prior to his release.
