Betfred has appointed a new managing director to oversee its online gaming operations.

Chris Sheffield will be responsible for the online gambling portfolio which includes casino, bingo, poker, sports betting and mobile gaming. Betfred is one of the worlds largest independent sports betting names and Chris has the experience to move the business forwards in what has become a highly competitive era.

Pearson revealed Sheffield had a number of exciting plans, especially in relation the company mobile betting and poker products.

Chris Sheffield was the Chief Executive Officer for International Game Technology (IGT)'s mobile gaming arm, Million-2-1. He also had the role of CEO for Eunite Limited.

In reference to the new challenge Sheffield noted that he was delighted to be joining Betfred.com at such an exciting time for the industry.

"We have just started television advertising and I am proud to join at the start of a high profile tournament in the Betfred.com World Snooker Championship," said Sheffield.
