Members of the Welford Welcome club are celebrating the groups 50th birthday. The club which was set up in 1961 is used by local members of the community to play bingo. Currently there are 62 members of the club, which has a reputation for being a great place to spend some time spreading far and wide, with some attendees coming from as far away as Leicester and Rugby. The group which is made up mostly of senior citizens meet up once per month to play bingo and go on day trips. Marion Wright, the club chairperson said the meeting place works well as a way of getting older people out of their homes to enjoy themselves. "It's a club for over sixties but we welcome anyone to join us," said Ms Wright.
