It is well known that keeping the mind active is one way to keep you healthier as you get older and bingo is one of the perfect ways of doing it. Anne Marks is yet another example of a bingo player to reach her 100th birthday and to still be able to enjoy playing bingo. Anne received a telegram from the Queen last week to mark the special occasion and she told one national newspaper that she feels the years have simply flown by. She has had a number of different jobs in her younger days from being a window dresser to a mechanic in the garage set up by her husband Simon. She was married twice after losing her first husband and finding love a second time at the age of 80. Unfortunately her second husband passed away five years later. Anne says that puts her long life down to dancing and playing bingo, while avoiding drinking and smoking. The birthday girl celebrated with a party at the Clore Manor Jewish Care Home in Great North Way, Hendon, where she lives.
