The club sold cups of tea and slices of Victoria sponge cake for £1, with 35p from each sale being donated to Marie Curie, raising over £210 for the cause. Prior to the party the Club manager, Terry Connelly, told the local paper: “We are very excited to be holding a Blooming Great Tea Party to support our charity partnership with Marie Curie Cancer Care and hope that many of our club customers will come and join in the fun." Meccabingo.com is proud to support Marie Curie Cancer Care as the charity of the year. Your support will help Marie Curie nurses care for terminally ill people across the UK in their homes. Just £20 provides one hour of nursing care. You can see all the ways in which you can help to support the charity through Mecca by visiting the online bingo site. About Marie Curie Cancer Care Marie Curie Cancer Care was established in 1948 - the same year as the NHS. More than 2,700 nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals help provide care for terminally ill patients in the community and in our hospices, along with support for their families. This year they expect to provide care to more than 31,000 people with cancer and other terminal illnesses.
