Reports in the media in recent weeks suggests that Bwin.party maybe subject to a takeover approach by various companies with the favourite being a US casino operator. However, as the share price managed to hit an all time low of nearly £1 a share earlier this month, just 50% of the price it was at shortly after the merger in April 2011, it turns out that the UK bookmaker William Hill maybe interested in the company.

While many sources suggest it is unlikely that any attempt to takeover the company will happen until the US make a decision over online gaming is made, the drop in the share price is certainly making the company an attractive opportunity, maybe too much so.

Stock markets have continued to decline in recent days and the fact that Bwin.party has erased some of the losses in recent days suggests shareholders think that at the current price levels it may not be a case that potential buyers look to wait until the US has made a decision. The company is looking very attractive regardless of the future of the US gambling market.

Shares in Bwin.party had recovered to £1.18 a share in this afternoons trading before finishing up at £1.15 per share.

It was only this time last year that the industry was talking about the merger of Bwin and Party Gaming. It certainly won’t be the first time that a major gaming company has changed hands several times in such a short time period.
