The Leigh and District Deaf Society has moved its bingo session to new premises which will also include pool, table and tennis facilities according to local media reports.

The fortnightly meetings for people with hearing difficulties also provide the opportunities for people to learn sign language. Bingo is one of the activities enjoyed by members as part of the socialising side of the meetings which is also used to deal with issues such as visiting doctors, making hospital appointments and booking interpreters. The new venue will allow the society to hold the regular meetings, which had previously just been held just four times per year.
