Developers and business owners are in talks over the former Flutters Bingo Club in Hinckley. The parties are looking at whether the club could be retained or should be knocked to the ground and local councillors are keen for bingo operators to come forward in order that bingo may again be played within the community at new premises. News last week that the bingo club was to be knocked comes as a concern to some of the businesses that still use part of the building. Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has stated they will work to agree plans for relocation of existing businesses. Leader of the council, Stuart Bray, said “I’m keen to ensure the town centre develops and thrives on the back of the major regeneration schemes, which are currently being promoted by the council and its partners. “I’m aware that the Tin Hat’s redevelopment proposals for the Flutters site are important to the timely delivery of the exciting mixed shopping and leisure development on the bus station site. “I have encouraged the developer to consider what can be done to ensure this important site in the history of Hinckley is developed in a high quality way.” Cllr Bray added: “I’m keen to hear from any potential bingo operator who may wish to continue providing a service to our communities in the town centre, as there may be an opportunity for this to be hosted in our award winning Atkins Centre.”
