Betfair have made another decision that customers will see as utterly unfair. Having failed to process bets of 10 players correctly, resulting in them losing out on £16,610, the company has refused to honour the bets and has simply returned the player stakes. "In a statement that infuriated some Betfair clients, the company on Tuesday admitted to 'technical issues in transmitting bets into the Tote pools in the last 10 minutes before the pool closed', reports the Telegraph. "However, Betfair refused to honour the bets of punters who thought they had won the jackpot after finding six winners at Newmarket last Friday." Betfair claims it has "returned funds for the failed bets", and argued that "at no point were these customers given confirmation that their bets had been successfully placed, or appeared as placed in their account statement". However according to customers such as Nick Bradley this is not the case. He had placed a bet and the funds had been taken out of his account. He should have made £4,610 from his lucky bet. Betfair have insisted that funds may have been removed temporarily.
