Mecca Bingo has again this year committed to raising as much money as possible for the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. While the gambling giant is using both its land based bingo clubs and online bingo sites to help raise funds, it relies on the efforts and generosity of its staff and customers to make it a success. We regular read about some of the charity events held by the team but two workers at a club in Hartlepool have certainly taken it to new heights to raise funds.

Natalie Pringle and Lorna Hammill, both staff at the Mecca Bingo club, took to the skies helping to raise hundreds of pounds for the charity.

Natalie, 20, and Lorna, 21, managed to raise £900 for national charity Marie Curie Cancer Care by taking part in a sky dive. The pair was joined by staff at other Mecca Clubs for the sky dive which was held in September at Hinton Airfield in Northamptonshire.

The general manager at the Mecca Bingo club in Hartlepool, Gavin Lee, commented: “To agree to jump out of a plane for charity is just incredible and shows how passionate the team is in its support for Marie Curie.

“I’m so impressed by the fundraising efforts of everyone since the start of the year.

“All the money we’ve raised will help the charity provide free home nursing care and support for terminally ill people and their families.”

The club has so far raised more than £2,600 this year through fundraising events for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

For every £20 raised in the fundraising events, Marie Curie will be able to provide one hours nursing care in local communities across the UK.
