The family of a bingo player that was killed on her way home from bingo have been left shock and heartbroken. Agnes Campbell a regular at her local bingo club was knocked down as she tried to get the bus home just a few yards from the Globe Bingo club in Johnstone town centre. The OAP had said goodbye to pals following her regular weekend trip to the bingo and was heading for a bus stop just 100 yards away when she was hit by a Honda Jazz being driven by a 72-year-old woman. The 74 year old suffered with severe injuries and died at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. A spokesperson for the club said that the staff and other customers had been left horrified by the incident: “Agnes was here every Saturday and had been a regular for years. She would meet up with a group of pals and loved playing bingo. “She was a lovely lady and was very kind to our staff. We were all shocked to hear of her death. We can hardly believe it. “It appears that Agnes was run over just a few yards up the road as she went to catch her bus home.” Paramedics rushed to the scene following the accident at 4:20pm on Saturday and Agnes was rushed to the hospital. Police are still trying establish how the accident happened and weather was described as “awful”, with heavy rain and strong winds. The Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forwards.
