The National Casino Industry Forum is calling on the government to overhaul the current ‘absurd’ and ‘complicated’ tax structure which provides unfair advantages to the online casino industry. The NCIF represents 90 per cent of the casino industry and claims the tax system needs to be simplified and include the online casino industry. Currently offshore casinos pay zero tax in the UK, while land based operators have to fork out 50 percent in tax. The forum chairman Malcolm Moss added: ‘There are an absurd amount of different levels within the tax regime and the Government should look to create a level playing field.’
