Cynthia Jones 63, from Castleford, West Yorkshire is to retire from the Ritz Bingo Club after an illustrious career spanning back 30 years. Cynthia began her employment at the same club in 1979 as a bingo operative turned cashier until 1983. In 1984, when the club was under the Walkers Bingo estate, Cynthia was asked to lead the close by Normanton Bingo Club for 2 years as a manager. She yearned to return to the Ritz bingo club and was granted her wish and continued as a cashier right up until today. Cynthia will carry out her duties for the final time on Sunday 5 April 2009. Cynthia Commented "I will obviously miss working in the bingo club that I have devoted a large portion of my life to, but I am looking forward to spending more time with my ever increasing family including 4 children, 5 grand children and 3 great grand children." The company will also miss a wonderful employee as Bingo club owner Roger Cooper expressed "She will be sorely missed as she is a trusted and integral member of the team. Her employment record is exemplary, but all of her friends and colleagues are looking forward to her returning to the club as a regular bingo player." Ritz Bingo is part of an independent bingo chain of clubs operating in England. The company employs over 100 staff in it's estate, Over 30,000 members across the UK, The group pays around £7.5 million a year in prize money over it's 6 clubs. |
