The land based bingo industry is now waiting to hear if the Treasury have taken into account the recent objections raised to the new Gross profits tax that was brought in earlier this year.

Gala Bingo are due to release their annual trading report and may be announced just ahead of the pre-budget report.

BingoSupermarket have received information that the pre budget announcement will be made on Wednesday 9th December2009 at 12.30pm.

Although the Bingo tax will not appear on the top of the agenda, it is hoped that recent lobbying by many bingo companies along with the Bingo Association and direct meetings with the Treasury may have convinced them to have a rethink on the recent legislative changes to GPT.

The bingo industry are already preparing to take on the issue and raise awareness in the New Year prior to the general elections and it is even thought that some bingo companies are considering to allow company representatives to stand for the election against marginal MPS.

The pre budget report is the last opportunity for the government to show support for the industry and save the future of many bingo clubs in the UK.
