Bingo Jackpot Used to Fund Drug Dealing

Bingosupermarket was somewhat shocked when we read what Amanda Bradshaw had done with her bingo winnings.  Never before had we heard of someone winning a jackpot and choosing to spend it in such a crazy way.  What would you do if you won £500? Treat the family, buy a new outfit, go on holiday or short-break, donate some to charity?

Amanda Bradshaw decided that she would spend her winnings on a new business idea which would bring in significant returns on her money.  Now normally this would be a great idea, however investing in drugs was not such a great idea. Unfortuantely for her eventually the law caught up with her and her luck has run out.

Having won a bingo jackpot at her local Mecca Bingo club in Stockton, she decided to put the £500 winnings to good use, by purchasing a large quantity of amphetamines to sell on to her friends.

Having experimented with amphetamines in an attempt to lose weight, and as a result, she was sure of her ‘winning’ business idea, Teeside Crown Court was told. Police finally busted Miss Bradshaw, from Stockton,  who carried out a series of raids at two separate addresses in Stockton, including the home of Bradshaw’s mother.

The police searched two residences under warrant, finding substantial amounts of the drug at her mother’s house.  The drugs had been stored in a freezer the court was told.  Miss Bradshaw explained they had been kept at her mother’s house to avoid her children finding out about her dodgy dealings.  It was claimed the mother was not aware of the existence of the Class B drug, with the haul recovering a stash with a street value of £900 pounds.

Bradshaw did not deny the drugs were hers, and was described in court as an “extremely limited lady”, who had learning difficulties and had attended a special school as a child.

Judge Tony Briggs handed the mother an 18 month suspended prison sentence, alongside a 12 month supervision order.
