A bus returning from a bingo club full of players has flipped over. The twelve passengers all escaped with minor injuries after the minibus overturned.
The bingo players were all returning home from the Crown Bingo in Hudson Street, Tyne Dock, South Shields. While all twelve were able to get themsleves out of the 16-seater vehicle, three of them were taken to the South Tyneside District Hospital for treatment. Following the incident at 9.16pm on Saturday the road was closed pending further enquiries by the Police. It is uncertain how the bus ended up turning over and Traffic Police are now involved in the incident.

Peter Sutton, the Neighbourhood Inspector, commented: "We received a report of a minibus that had turned over at about 9.16pm. Several people were on board at the time and suffered minor injuries. The road was closed and the buses were diverted while an investigation by traffic officers was carried out. Inquiries into what happened are still continuing."

A spokesperson at the North East Ambulance Service added: "Twelve people were on the bus. No one was trapped and they were all able to get themselves out of the vehicle."
