Bingo Supermarket last week announced the winners of the online bingo awards and much to the amazement of the industry; the best portal award went to Bingo Port.
Every year since the awards were introduced, Which Bingo picked up the award with some of the operators claiming the award was flawed due to the owner of Which Bingo being on the panel of the nominators.
Bingo Supermarket had reported an article leading up to the awards that the outcome was getting too predictable and based on relations as opposed to the quality of the sites. Bingo Supermarket has never stipulated that the winners were not deserved, but the process of the nominations was flawed in the sense that some worthwhile quality sites that did not get consideration were being decided by the competition.
During the summit, the article by Bingo Supermarket received much attention and the vote process that followed threw out a result that came as a shock in particular to the eventual winners Bingo Port.
Next year, it is anticipated that the nominations process will have a different system and Bingo Supermarket and many other portals may now decide to battle over the award now that it appears to have been given increased credibility.
Top Online Bingo Operator went to Tombola and again since the bingo site is now the largest bingo website in terms of players in the UK, very few people could argue with the outcome of this award.
Best Marketing campaign winners Foxy Bingo were expected to grab the award as the whole success of the company is literally based on the marketing techniques they have adopted since exploding into the online bingo market. |
