A grandmother of four revealed yesterday how she had been kicked in the face by a robber in order to get her bingo winnings. Margaret Craig from Tillydrone in Aberdeen was on her way home when she was attacked by the villain on Tuesday evening. The 63 year old OAP had been playing bingo had won £140. The cowardly thug made off with her handbag which had her winnings and a further £60 in. Margaret was taken to hospital after the attack where she was treated for minor injuries, including a big bruise on her eye and later released. Margaret commented: "I was at the bingo and decided to walk home because it was such a nice night. I was going on to Portal Terrace when I heard someone running behind me. "When I turned round, this guy started pulling my bag and said, 'Give me it.' "I swore at him and said no but he kept pulling and pulling and we struggled." She added that the man had a silver sharp object that he pointed against her hand and she stumbled to the ground at which point the attacker became more violent. "I landed on the grass verge. That's when he kicked me in the face. "When he kicked me a second time, the strap broke and he ran away. I screamed and screamed. A guy came down and helped me." The Police were called to the scene at 10:15pm PC Duncan MacKintosh said: "This was a terrible attack on a lone woman. "We are determined to find the person who was responsible." Unfortunately with the effects of the global recession and the severe cuts that are being made in the UK, violent crimes such as these are likely to increase over the next few years. Elderly bingo players walking home on their own late at night are more likely to be targeted by such nasty criminals. Bingosupermarket are offering a £250 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of this cowardly scumbag. Contact us on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
