Online bingo suppliers Thomas and Anca have been listed by Google as dangerous and a potential risk to customers visiting the site. Visiting the online site could result in your computer becoming infected and it is for this reason browsers such as Mozilla have today blocked the site from users and Google have made the situation clear to the public on its search engine. This will be a big embarrassment for the online bingo supplier that captures customers details and allows customers to purchase goods using credit cards.

 
Mecca Bingo Numers Encouraging

For the first time in a decade Mecca Bingo has reported an increase in customers. The gaming giant that operates 103 land based bingo clubs has recently introduced late nights, running games like Rock and Roll bingo and karaoke. Customer numbers have risen by 3.4% to 943,000 in the six months to the end of June.

New Bingo Club Planned For Halifax

It was reported in the Halifax Evening Courier that work began on a £50 million redevelopment of Broad Street in Halifax. While initially most of the work will involve underground surveys, over the coming weeks 150 workmen and machines will be working on the site. The project was first discussed 16 years ago but has had ongoing issues that have delayed the plans. The development will be completed next year and will be built by Marshall Construction, of Elland.

New Gambling Legislation in Denmark

On the 1st July 2010 new gambling laws were introduced in Denmark to allow for legal gambling in various forms. The new structured system of regulation requires operators of online gambling websites to be licensed and the fee is around 140,000 euros and operators also pay a 20% tax on gross revenues.

A couple that won £5,000 sponsorship for their wedding were told “I don’t think so” by the vicar that was booked for the wedding. Suzanne Latta, 28, and her husband to be Matt Brown, 37, had won the money in an online bingo competition. Gala Coral Chief Executive Leaves Company In Search of New Challenges

The gaming giant Gala Coral, which is the parent group of Gala Bingo have today announced that Dominic Harrison, Chief Executive, has decided to leave the Group to seek new career opportunities.

Neil Goulden, Executive Chairman, will take on the role of Interim Chief Executive whilst a full search is conducted to find a replacement. Neil has been with Gala Coral for 10 years and was previously Group Managing Director (Bingo and Casinos) 2001 – 2004 and Group Chief Executive 2004 – 2008. He has been Chairman since January 2009 and will return to that role once a new Chief Executive has been appointed.

Dominic Harrison joined Gala in 2004 and became Gala Coral Chief Executive in October 2008. He will stay with the company until October 1 to ensure an effective handover to Mr Goulden.

Neil Goulden commented: “Dominic has played a big role in the development of the group over the last six years and we are grateful for his contribution. He leaves with our thanks and best wishes for the future”.

Dominic Harrison added: “After six years with Gala Coral it is time to seek fresh challenges. I wish Neil and the rest of the team all the best as they take the company forward to the next phase in its development and ensure that it remains at the forefront of the sector.”

A former historic Grade II listed Mecca Bingo club has been placed on the “at risk” register after being left empty in the last 3 years. The famous club in Islington was operated by Mecca Bingo up until March 2007.
