Riva Bingo Streatham returned to former owner Print E-mail

The Riva Bingo club in Streatham has been sold to Brian Fraser of FCM ltd from the Beacon group.  Bingo Supermarket reported last year that Brian Mattingley had acquired some bingo clubs after the former Mayfair and Riva group was restructured.

Brian Mattingley last year took over ownership of the bingo club in Streatham along with Beacon Bingo clubs in Loughborough, Northampton and Cricklewood.  Brian Fraser stepped in to buy the Streatham bingo club which is a grade 2 listed building for an undisclosed fee over the last week.  Brian Fraser is no stranger to bingo as he owns a chain of UK bingo clubs in Scotland and Wlaes.

Mr Fraser owns this bingo club for a second time as he formerly operated the club as Mayfair bingo.  The Mayfair Group was sold to Riva Bingo and they continued to operate under the Mayfair brand a few years ago before being taken over by Brian Mattingley.  Mr Fraser continued to trade and set up FCM ltd and has since bought more bingo clubs and has brought home his mothership by completing the deal.

Other operators had expressed an interest in the club which has good trading figures under the current climate, however the overheads and responsibility that lies with the grade ii listed building concerned potential buyers.

Details on the sale are sketchy but check back to the Bingo Supermarket website when more news about the UK bingo club sales and closures will be reported in the next few days.
