The British online gaming giant 888 released its second quarter results. Operating income remained unchanged on the previous year at $61 million. As expected the poker division showed weak trading, however this was offset by a significant improvement in bingo. The bingo operating income was up by 372 percent to $13 million. The company announced that it had formed a partnership with Microgame to provide online casino products to the Italian market. Shares in 888 (888.L) closed on Monday afternoon at 50p per share valuing the company at £167 million. While Gala Coral have refused to make public their accounts for 2009, Mecca Bingo released their figures last week showing an increase in bingo customers, which was the first time in a decade. It looks like Britain’s favourite past-time is again on the up.
