A Saskatchewan government employee has been sacked from his civil service job after moonlighting as a bingo caller it has been reported.

New sources suggest that Mike Hanson was a former programmer analyst in the provincial Information Technology Office in Regina. The agency provides technical support for a number of government computer programs.

In addition to his day time job Mr Hanson was also working at a bingo club calling out the numbers. According to the reports, Hanson was repeatedly calling in sick to his government job when in fact he was well enough to be working in the bingo club. It was also suggested that he was also working at the bingo club at night and calling in sick to his government job the next day.

Supervisors noted the pattern went on for some time, and the worker was recently fired.

Saskatchewan is a prairie province in Canada, the population this year was estimated to be at 1,045,662
