| Bingo Player Celebrates Her 100th Birthday |

You wouldn’t think that Ada Morris was 100 years old, in fact she still does many things that people 30 years younger find difficult. There are no moans about doing all her own house work, babysitting and playing bingo 3 times per week. She is a shining example to all those that moan I am getting too old. To fact to mark to mark the special occasion the bingo fan held an all day party at her home in Wilders Garth, Holbeach, for family and friends. The latest birthday fetched plenty of cards flowers and a special card from the queen. Ada was born at Holbeach St Marks on the 11th January 1911 in the reign of George V. She went to school in Holbeach Hurn and then the girls’ school at Holbeach, and joined the services at the age of 14. She was married at the age of 18, busy mum of three and also worked on the land up to the age of 73! Her husband, George, died in 1989 and her only son, Brian passed away at 67 in 2008. She has two girls, Eileen (67) and Joan Pentney (81), four grandchildren – including Holbeach United player and town councillor Shaun Keeble – and five great-grandchildren. Eileen commented: “She goes to bingo three times a week, does her own housework, the washing and ironing, and she still looks after the grandkids if needed. She is very family orientated.” The organiser of the local bingo games, June Taylor added: “She is a marvellous lady, she still plays six books, which is quite a lot for her age, and she keeps up with it.” Her bingo fans presenter to a special birthday cake and flowers to mark the special occasion. No doubt bingo has helped to keep her mind active which is essential as you get older. Ada also attributed her long life to hard work. She added: “I have always worked hard.
