Two men wearing balaclavas locked staff in a cupboard at the Mecca Bingo club in Watford while took cash from the safe. The incident happened at the bingo club on Monday evening as the two remaining staff were balancing the books and preparing to leave the club. The two men with their faces hidden had been hiding in the club and made their move threatening the two frightened staff. They then tied them up and forced them into a cupboard before stealing an undisclosed amount of money from the safe. The duo then made their exit via the rear doors that open on Granville Road between 10:15pm and 10:45pm. The police have confirmed that although the victims were not attacked with any weapons the robbers had a knife in their possession. The staff are reported to be unhurt but very much shaken by the incident. The police are urging anyone with anyone with information on this cowardly attack to come forward. The investigating officer is DS John Hazeldine and he can be contacted on 01923 472 981
