A Gala Bingo club was robbed by two conmen on Thursday 20th January and police are now appealing for witnesses. The two criminals entered the club at Basingstoke Leisure Park between 8:25pm and 8:40pm and asked the cashier at the payout counter to change some money. After she had changed the money one of the guys asked her to change some more money and after the men had left she realised they had stolen £650. The two men have been described by Police as having tanned skin and possibly of Turkish origin. Both were aged in their late 20s to early 30s. The first was of average build and 5ft 4ins tall. He had two gold teeth and was wearing a white jacket. The second man was 5ft 8ins and wearing dark clothing. The investigating officer from the Basingstoke targeted patrol team, PC David Catchpole, appealed: “Were you at Gala Bingo on Thursday evening, or in the area of the leisure park, and if so, did you see these two men? “They are believed to have driven off in a dark blue BMW saloon car shortly afterwards. If you can help, please get in touch.” Given the unique descriptions the public will certainly be able to help the police catch these two criminal, hopefully before they carryout any further crimes. PC Catchpole can be contacted at Basingstoke police station on 101, or those with information on the two suspects can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
