A fundraising event has demonstrated that people of all ages can enjoy the UK’s favourite pastime. The Autumn Centre, in Counts Farm Road, Corby, hosted a special evening of bingo fun for its members, which resulted in many young bingo fans turning up the Evening Telegraph reported. Approximately 60 people from the organisation attended the event, and the number playing bingo was further increased as teenagers from the Exeter estate's youth group also turned out. Maria Difolco, the centre supervisor and head of both the seniors evenings and the youth club, told the newspaper that everyone had a brilliant evening out. "We hold the bingo nights about three times a year and the aim is to provide entertainment in the evening for our elderly members," Ms Difolco added. The evenings provide the opportunity for many of the older people in the community to get out and socialise with other locals. Many of the teenagers were praised for their help, the centre supervisor added. They did a brilliant job helping to serve the refreshments and sorting out the bingo books, while the more artistic members even designed the posters promoting the event.
