The club in Quarry Hill is supporting the charity’s annual fundraising appeal through a range of events including yellow themed days, charity auctions and street collections. Chris Davey, manager of the Mecca Bingo in Grays, said: “Marie Curie Cancer Care is Mecca Bingo’s chosen charity for this year and as part of our commitment to raising money for the charity we’re supporting its flagship appeal. “This is the second year we’ll be taking part in the campaign and we hope to build on the success from last year. “Our budding fundraisers are geared up and ready to help raise as much money as they can for such a worthy organisation.” The appeal aims to raise more than £5.5million this year. Anne Hillion, community fundraiser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “The appeal is a key event in the charity’s calendar and it’s great to have the support of Mecca Bingo customers and team members. “We hope that everyone across Grays will wear their daffodil pin this March, helping the charity raise funds and awareness of Marie Curie Nurses who make it possible for terminally people to have the care they need at home in their final days.” To make a £1.50 donation to the Great Daffodil Appeal please text DAFF to 70777 now.
