Following the purchase of the Buckingham Bingo clubs, Bryan Fraser has started a refurbishment program beginning with the bingo club in Preston.

Fraser Capital Management purchased 7 of the bingo clubs from the Buckingham Bingo group for around £10m and has rebranded them inline with the 3 other bingo clubs the company own operating as Club 3000.

The Preston bingo club on Tithebarn Streetm is now set for a refurbishment as part of a plan to improve its image. After a number of difficult years and uncertain trading under a mismanaged company that saw massive debt write-offs and short term decisions the customers at the club will be somewhat relieved that they are now part of a forward thinking company with owner, Bryan Fraser having extensive experience in running bingo clubs.

The manager, Ted Edwards, said the bingo club has 10,000 members and regularly attracts 1,500 to sessions.

He added: “The club has been rebranded from Buckingham Bingo to Club 3000.

“The only difference should be that we are putting on a lot more offers.”

According to the bingo manager the new owners were currently planning refurbishment for the Preston site.

He added: “That is in the pipeline, we are looking into it at the moment.

“It will be a refurbishment and refresh of the building rather than any major changes to the hall itself.”

The clubs will have its official opening on Friday, May 6.

Brian Fraser, managing director of the Club 3000 parent company, suggested that he hoped “replicate the success” of the other clubs under the brand which are based in Wales and Scotland.

He added: “The industry has had a tough few years due to the general state of the economy as well as factors such as the smoking ban and an increasing tax burden.

“Despite these challenges, our commitment to providing customers with good service and value for money has paid off and we’ll be carrying those values forward into our expanded operation as we bring our new outlets on stream.”
