A pub that was a casualty of the smoking ban is to be used to host charity bingo sessions. The Kent Arms closed in 2009 and has remained empty ever since according to local media reports. It has now been purchased by the mental health charity Mind and will become the permanent base for the Grimsby, Cleethorpes and District branch of the good cause. For those suffering with related illnesses it will offer them a social outlet which will include bingo sessions. Local manager for the charity, Martin Skelton, is hoping the new centre will open this month. "We will be running our day services from the building, where members who suffer from isolation come to socialise. It's a nice, informal group and we will be holding arts and literacy classes and bingo sessions," Mr Skelton added.
