Prize Bingo on the seaside is almost becoming a thing of the past. 10 years ago, you would be hard pushed to walk along a promenade past the amusement arcades without the sounds of down the red line, Kelly's eye number one ringing out to the passing public. Prize bingo was often used as a by product for family entertainment centres, amusement arcades and since these are also in decline it comes as no surprise that there is a continued decline in seaside bingo. Our very own Sandra Thommpson has now took it upon herself to rent one of the few prize bingo clubs left on the Lincolnshire coast in Ingoldmells and will spend the next three months discovering the reasons why the seaside bingo is falling in popularity and will report back with her findings. The venue is at the Big Top amusement arcade in Ingoldmells and she will be opening the prize bingo stall to the public on Friday 27th May 2011. |
