Bingo players at the Gala Bingo club in Ashington, Northumberland are celebrating after their friend scooped the High 5 jackpot meaning they all got more than £2,000 each.

The lucky bingo players were all present when the lucky regular won the national jackpot game, and the games rules of the Gala Bingo jackpot game the £250,000 prize money is split 50/50 with half the money going to the winner and half the money being split between all the players that were playing at the time.

The 87-year-old lucky jackpot winner scooped £125,000 plus the £10,000 house prize while other Ashington players equally shared the remaining £125,000.

The lucky game was played on Saturday May 14th and each of the members playing the game on the night have now received a cheque for £2,233. The Ashington Gala Bingo club is just one of the 140 clubs in the chain which takes part in the national High 5 game.

Julie Rushby, who was one of the lucky members to get a cheque, commented: “It was amazing when we were in the hall and the lady’s numbers came up.
