| Ladbrokes in Talks with Sportsbook |

The gaming giant Ladbrokes has reportedly made a preliminary takeover approach for its rival Sportingbet last week. Ladbrokes had been in talks with 888.com but negotiations over a possible acquisition failed and Ladbrokes walked away earlier this year. "Further to recent press speculation, the board of Sportingbet announces that it has received a highly preliminary approach from Ladbrokes plc, which may or may not lead to an offer being made to purchase the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the company," Sportingbet claimed last Thursday. Shares in Sportingbet rose more than 10 percent after the news broke.
