The gambling company Ladbrokes has hired the group electronics gaming director from rival Gala Coral. John Pettit who is currently on garden leave until early 2012 pending departure from Gala, is part of the bookmakers restructuring plans and will be involved with the product unit in a commercial role reporting to Richard Ames.

It is reported that Pettit’s appointment follows from Ladbrokes’ deal with Global Draw which saw several hundred new server-based terminals installed in mode than 2,000 Ladbrokes sites earlier this year. “They [Coral] have had the best performing machines for a number of years, while Ladbrokes has dramatically improved its machine performance in recent months having been previously behind the curve,” one source suggested.
