A pensioner from Bracknell is in with a chance to win a share of the £100,000 national bingo prize after reaching the finals in the Gala competition which takes place in Gibraltar next month.

Marion Riddy, 70, is a member of the Gala Bingo club in Wokingham and managed to beat 60,000 other bingo players to mark her place in the finals of the Ultimate Bingo Championships.

The Ultimate Bingo Championship 2011 will see bingo members enjoying 3 days of sun, sea and the chance to win £100,000 in prize money and a holiday of a lifetime to Las Vegas. The finalists will spend their time in a top hotel in Gibraltar for the finals which runs from Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th November.

The lucky finalist added: “I am very surprised that I got through but I did. I’ve never won anything like this before, I couldn't believe it.”

Mrs Riddy, who is a retired sales worker, made it through to the final after travelling to the south east regional play-offs in Medway, Kent with other members of the Wokingham club in August.

She said: “I’ve just got to hope that I’ve got that extra bit of luck in the final.”

Mrs Riddy will be travelling to Gibraltar for three-days on an all-expenses paid trip with her husband Graham.
