A bingo caller has high hopes after releasing his debut single this week. Wayne McFarlane who wrote his single, “Everyone Wants a Piece of Me”, was spotted at a karaoke bar in Wallsend.

The Gala Bingo caller has teamed up with singer and producer Dave Turner, who reached number one in Barbados with his charity song penned for soldiers who fought in Afghanistan. Dave spotted 26 year old Wayne at the karaoke bar and on the same night also spotted Jessica Wood who has joined Wayne on the single.

Wayne’s single “Everyone Wants a Piece of Me” was recorded at Broadwater Studios in Gateshead and will be released on Thursday through iTunes and Amazon.

Wayne, who has adopted the alias Wayne Mc, added: “I couldn’t believe it at first, when Dave approached me and said he wanted to sign me to his record label, I thought it was a joke.

“Things like this don’t happen to an ordinary bloke like me who works full-time in a bingo hall.

“I go to Last Orders pub in Wallsend every Thursday for karaoke, I love it, but I never thought it would lead to anything. This is a dream come true and I could get rocketed to stardom.

“Who knows where it will take me.”

Father-of-two Dave, 27, who set up record label JRT Management and Recordings in August, sees big things for Wayne: “I was in Last Orders when I heard this amazing voice. Wayne really made me sit up and listen. I approached him when he had finished his song and I said I could help him make a career of his singing voice.

“While I was talking to Wayne, Jessica stood up to sing and she was also fabulous. I couldn’t believe it, I had caught two fish in one night in the same basket.

“Wayne’s debut single is launched on November 24. I really think this guy will make it,” added Dave.
