| Doncaster Mecca Staff Raise £3500 for Cancer Charity |

Mecca Bingo staff at the club in East Laith, Doncaster, have met the company challenge and raised a massive £700 towards the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity. Mecca Bingo have committed to raising as much money as possible for the chosen charity over the last couple of years in both their land based bingo clubs and their online bingo site. Fundraising activities at the Doncaster club included a name-the-bear competition, a danceathon, a car wash, a nail bar for customers and a sponsored leg, back and chest waxing. The club has raised more than £3,500 for the charity so far this year. Manager Paul Goy said: “Our efforts will help nurses to provide free home nursing and support for terminally ill people and their families.” With Mecca Bingo celebrating its 50th Birthday at the moment the company set a challenge for its staff at clubs up and down the country. As part of the 50/50 challenge staff were encourage to take part in the challenge where they were given £50 and told to come up with innovative ideas to turn the £50 into bigger amounts for the charity drive. The staff had 50 hours to raise as much as possible. In addition to being of the biggest names in the gambling industry, Mecca has ensured that they contribute to the community and good causes. Mecca Bingo staff and management are clearly number one when it comes to raising funds for good causes.
