Barbara Taylor, 58, has admitted three offences of theft totalling £20,300 and two fraud offences in order to fund her bingo addiction. The Leigh woman had stolen thousands of pounds from an elderly neighbour the Liverpool Crown Court was told. Taylor dishonestly used the credit card of Elizabeth Bailey to obtain camping goods from Go Outdoors Ltd on June 23 last year and Sunseeker Sunbeds on September 15 last year. Prosecutor, Harry Pepper, said that Taylor had pleaded guilty to thefts of £11,670. She had done errands for the elderly and infirm victim and had control of her finances. It was claimed that she had taken out large sums of money to cover her bingo habit. Judge Gerald Clifton remanded Taylor on bail until the 5th January to enable a pre-sentence report to be prepared but commented: "stealing in this way is generally punished by immediate imprisonment."
