| Armed Thieves Raid Gala Bingo Club |

The Gala Bingo in Croxteth was the target of armed and masked robbers last night. The incident last night saw a large amount of money being stolen from the site and staff threatened with firearms and knives. Three robbers entered the Gala Bingo site off the East Lancs Road, Croxteth at around 7:30pm as members enjoyed a game of bingo. All three had their faces covered and one of the robbers was wearing a distinctive mustard and brown coloured jacket. One of the individuals was armed with a gun and the other two had knives. The staff on duty were threatened and the thieves demanded money before escaping the scene in a dark saloon car. No was hurt in the incident but the staff were distressed. Local police are appealing for witnesses that may have been at the KFC and Frankie and Bennys restaurants which are nearby.
