Netplay TV, the UK interactive television gambling operator, has released an upbeat trading statement today showing an improvement over last year and suggesting strong results for the Q4 period. The company reported a 27.2% increase in new real money customers to 9,261 compared to 7,278 for the same period last year. The number of active depositing casino players also increased by 21.7% from 14,608 to 17,783. Chief executive officer, Charles Butler, said that he expected full year results to some in ahead of expectations. He noted that successful results were a result of a customer acquisition strategy focusing on TV advertising and its post-midnight teleshopping airtime. As per the agreement with Channel 5, the company had invested heavily in additional TV advertising, which while showing an increase in marketing costs had seen a cost effective customer acquisition. Netplay also announced the launch of its live roulette on Supercasino for the iPad during the Q4 period and said that it would launching additional games for the iPhone and Tablets in the first quarter of 2012.
