A well known bingo club in Castleford, Ritz Bingo, has seen some of its gambling machines hit by a group of lads. Due to the nature of gambling machines with cash floats they are attractive targets for criminals. While most gambling machines make use of the specialist technology to prevent there operation from being tampered with at times gambling establishments find themselves the victims of criminal activity. Ritz Bingo have called the Police in this week after a group of four lads ripped of a number of gambling machines including the popular Party Time multiplayer machine. Four white males in there mid-twenties were caught on CCTV acting suspiciously. The gambling machines were subsequently checked and the revenues showed a deficit of more than £600. The incident happened on Monday and investigations show the lads, registered as members of the bingo club under addresses based in Cleethorpes. Depending on the manner in which criminal try to scam a gambling machine, it can sound an alarm alerting the management team to problems. On this occasion there were no alarms and further investigations are being carried out into how the criminals ripped off the machines. The Police are now investigating the situation and have shown a copy of the CCTV and membership applications. While the chances of getting any of the funds back are slim, Seldis Cooper, the parent company of the Ritz Bingo, takes such issues seriously and has offered a £250 reward for the conviction of those involved.
