Regular Mecca Bingo player Sally Melia from Knotty Ash in Liverpool celebrated her 103rd birthday as friends and staff threw a surprise party at her local Mecca Bingo club. Sally has been playing at the Liverpool club since she was 60 years old but that is now 43 years ago and Sally is the oldest known bingo regular in the Mecca Bingo group. Sally was born in 1906 and worked at the Royal Ordinance Factory during the second world war, she went on to work as a school cook until she retired 38 years ago at the age of 65. Her eldest son Bill brings her to the bingo every week and commented "She looks forward to her bingo every Saturday". Club Manager Steve Linder added "Sally is as fit as a fiddle and more active than some people 30 years her junior, she is the queen of this bingo hall and deserves to be treated like Royalty." Sally commented on her regular visits to the bingo club saying " I don't know what I would do if I could not get down to the bingo, it keeps me active and you meet some lovely people. One of these days I'm sure I will land the big Jackpot". Bingo Supermarket would like to hear if anyone knows of any regular bingo attendees over 100 years of age. It would be great to hear from you.
