A 25 year old male has been released on police bail following an attack on the Mecca Bingo club in Norwich. On the 3rd July 2009, the attacker entered the Mecca bingo club and threatened a young lady with a knife whilst pulling her through the club asking where the money was kept. Lee, a Mecca bingo cleaner heriically stood up the attacker who eventually fled the scene on a motorbike.
The 25 year old attacker was later captured, arrested and charged by Police and will reappear in court on 28th August 2009 after receiving bail. Bingo clubs have been targetted in the past but due to the tight security procedures set in place, it is very rare crimes committed against bingo clubs are not brought to justice. Only yesterday evening, Bingo Supermarket reported how a gunman in Liverpool shot and injured a bingo employee before leaving the scene on a scrambler. This incident is still under investigation and police are appealing for witnesses.
