Beacon Bingo Loughborough staged its second meltdown event last night and the evening was immense well exceeded expectations. Beacon Bingo Manager Kevin Farnsworth invited the Bingo Supermarket correspondent and former employee Mark Bennett to attend the event who commented "Having worked in the club in the past I had concerns that the theme would not be popular and may even alienate regular and traditional bingo players. However the atmosphere was electric, well organised and I even had the opportunity to meet some of the regulars that I remember from nearly 10 years ago who were participating and enjoying the event". Mark caught up with two regular bingo players mother and daughter who commented "We weren't sure what to expect but found it to be very entertaining and really enjoyed it".
The meltdown began with a superb sound and light show and staged to drag artists known as ‘copy catz'. bingo was called through the night whilst customers partied and danced on the tables for a period of two hours. The first meltdown night was staged a week prior and had over 200 bingo players taking part and last night well exceeded that target. Manager Kevin Farnsworth had no hesitation is stating that the event will definitely be run again and may become a regular feature. The night was targeted towards the younger generation and was aimed to bring down barriers to enter a bingo club. It is hoped that with many of the attendees being first time visitors, they may be tempted to come back and take part in the more traditional style of bingo. Following on from the night, the Bingo Supermarket team have headed towards Beeston to report on the new state of the art Mecca Bingo club. Look out for a report on bingo club that will be added to news in a few days.
