A leading bingo operator has set up a new website appealing for all bingo companies, the Bingo association and bingo players to join forces and fight the government against the unfair taxation.  Back Bingo was set up with latest bingo articles and bingo news on the issue of unfair taxation facing bingo clubs in the UK. Operators including Mecca, Gala, The Bingo Association and more recently Bingo Supermarket have collaborated together and are coming together in order to co-ordinate and organise a precise and strategic approach to getting the tax ruling overturned.

Templates on the website are also present in which bingo players are encouraged to print off and send to their local MP's.  The current level of tax known as GPT is set at 22 percent, but the bingo industry believe this to be totally unfair since bookmakers and other forms of gaming including casinos and online bingo are all taxed at just 15 percent.  Everyone in the industry and even the government cannot understand the reason for the unfairness and the treasury just say we are better off than before.

Up until the recent budget, bingo was taxed at 15 percent but also had to fight to have VAT removed and the argument has been ongoing through the courts for a number of years.  The government decided to agree to the change and hit back at the industry by taking the money through a higher GPT.  Mecca Bingo has branded this as victimisation against the industry.

To save the bingo industry, bingo players and companies now need to take advantage of the fact a general election is imminent and we must be heard.
