The which bingo awards to be presented at the 4th annual online bingo summit have already received the nominations. Bingosupermarket last year raised some questions to how the sites were nominated and a few other sites also had questions on the election process. This year the selection process has been changed and now only one representative per company is allowed to vote.
Last year, it was a free for all for everyone who attended the summit, so basically the company who brought the highest number of employees to the event had the best chance of winning. The problem that has arisen this year was the nomination process. Any company could nominate themselves for an award and it was left up to a panel of experts to decide who would then get a nomination and for which category they would be nominated. It would be wrong for Bingo Supermarket to say it is the first company to bring to everyone's attention two nominations in the best newcomer award have been around for years. Bingo Supermarket would like to credit the website Playing Bingo for highlighting this strange nomination and also question whether the nomination panel who are "bingo experts" actually know that Crown Bingo and 888 Bingo have been around for a number of years. It will be interesting to see how the voting for the bingo sites emerge and bingo supermarket will release the results as they come. Follow Up Since the article was released, the organisers have decided to drop Crown Bingo from the nominations stating this was an error on their part. However 888 Ladies remain as a contender for best newcomer since the site was released in January 2008 and fits the criteria. The website Playing bingo have pointed out that it is strange that last years winners Wink Bingo have not been nominated again since it was released around the same time. |
